Nick Carifo is a modern magician for a modern audience. His likable, tongue-in-cheek personality meshes seamlessly with his unique stage presence and flair for audience-interactive comedy magic resulting in a fun and memorable entertainment experience!
Based in LA, Nick is an actor, host and modern magician. He performs for the entertainment industry and brings his show on the road for resorts, colleges, festivals, conventions, and corporate events. He has appeared on the bill with INXS, Regis Philbin, Joan Rivers, Aaron Neville, Maureen McCormick, Buckwheat Zydeco, Frank Nicotero, Steve Wyrick, and John Ferrentino and has appeared at events along side such celebrities as Brooke Shields, Dennis Miller, Drew Carey, George Wendt, Caroline Rhea, Beth Broderick, George Romero, Tom Savini, Don Brockett, and Shadoe Stevens. In addition Nick performed for 3 seasons as a "weekly regular" background player on the set of The Drew Carey Show at Warner Brothers Television and has appeared in the background cast on dozens of television shows including The West Wing, The Gilmore Girls, Las Vegas, Charmed, That 70's Show, and Spin City as well as the recent films Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Mission Impossible 3.
Nick has appeared in television commercials for Rolling Rock Beer and Gabriel Brothers Department Stores while his modern magic has been featured in nation-wide sales promotions for Oreos, Crunch & Munch, Chef Boyardee, HomeStyle Bakes, and Bob Mackie Fragrances. But Nick’s favorite show to date was his incredible opportunity to perform at The White House in Washington D.C. when he accepted an invitation to appear at the 117th Annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Nick began his performing career at the age of six. By his early teens Nick was performing professionally and enjoying local celebrity status through newspapers and television appearances. He taught classes in the art of magic at two area colleges and became a special-effects consultant for live theatrical productions while earning a degree in Marketing from Robert Morris University, in Pittsburgh, where he received a scholarship for the performing arts. Recently, the Pittsburgh Chapters of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and The Society of American Magicians have both honored Nick Carifo as “Pittsburgh’s Magician of the Year”. His other awards include a First Place Trophy at The Winter Carnival of Magic in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and two finalist awards for stage magic from the Annual Magi-Fest Magician’s Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
Kennywood Park Entertainment calls Nick Carifo "One of the Best" and praised Kennywood’s Street Magic, Nick's theme park stage show run of 450 performances, as “the best magic show ever at the park!” Paul Osborne, internationally recognized illusion designer for such clients as David Copperfield and Siegfried and Roy, calls Nick Carifo “a magical performer for any situation” and goes on to say “We credit Nick for our success in this endeavor” -- referring to 250 performances of the Osborne-produced magical action show Thrillusion! Nick Carifo’s other accomplishments are almost too numerous to list, but include being a favorite performer of the Gateway Clipper Fleet River Cruise Line, traveling to 50 Cities across America with the Miss Teen Cities of America Pageant, performing as the official host and MC for the PepsiFest Summer Concert Series, writing and directing Magic from the Darkside – a Halloween illusion show specifically designed for America’s largest Halloween Fright Festival, and accepting an invitation to perform with a star-studded cast of magicians at the annual International Battle of Magicians Convention.
